League Cup: Fernando Torres with a hattrick

League Cup is not that much fashioned as other trophies but this is also a trophy that most clubs are seeking to capture if not for the so called big boys of the premiership. Yet rarely do other teams manage to win this cup. The latest round results proved this as the big teams ran away comfortable winners against their opposition although they showed some resistant. The major talk
of the results was of Torres scoring a superb hattrick, it was a fine answer to Benitez who kept him on the bench in last weekend's premiership fixture. Liverpool beat Reading 4-2 with another goal from Youssi Benayoun. Bobby Convey and Halls managed to score for the Hammers.

In other all premiership fixture Arsenal ran out comfortable winners against premiership rival Newcastle. Young and talented Bentdner and dynamic Denilson scored for the gunners as they won the match 2-0. Portsmouth and Manchester City also won their fixtures against Burnley and Norwich. Both won the match 1-0. David Nugent scored for Pompey while Samaras scored for the Manchester City which was enough to move their teams into the next round respectively.
