Premier League fixtures are out.

The premier league fixture are out for the new season. Current champions Chelsea entertain newly promoted West Bromwich Albion. Liverpool will have their season opener tested against Arsenal in the very opening day while runners-up Manchester United will welcome back the Championship champion Newcastle back to the premiership. Tottenham will have their champions league place battle started again on the first day with the Manchester City visiting them.

The overall opening day fixture is as follows:
Aston Villa v West Ham
Blackburn v Everton
Blackpool v Wigan
Bolton v Fulham
Chelsea v West Brom
Liverpool v Arsenal
Man Utd v Newcastle
Sunderland v Birmingham
Tottenham v Man City
Wolverhampton v Stoke

The new season will certainly get better despite the worldcup overshadowing the transfer activity in the transfer window.

Grand slam sunday

This sunday all the four big guns clashed against each other in the much anticipated weekend fixtures. But the Red devils and the gunners were triumphant in their matches. It was crucial match for all the teams as Liverpool and Chelsea could have managed to decrease the point gap between them and leaders but instead it was the top two teams who managed to increase the point gap.

Manchester United won their math against the Liverpool side by a single goal courtesy of Carlos Tevez. Liverpool looked more promising then the Manchester United but their lack of composer infront of goal let them down. In other big clash Arsenal beat Chelsea by the same goal margin. William Gallas scored for the gunners in tightly contested match.

In other fixtures Santa Cruz and Marcus Bent grabbed hattrick each but it was Marcus Bent who managed 3 points for his team with a hattrick. Wigan won the match 5-3 against Blackburn. Scharner and Landzaat scored the other two goals for the Wigan.

Gunners and Mercyside Reds tasted defeat for the first time this season

The only two unbeaten team in the premiership suffered defeat at the hands of lowly placed teams. Arsenal lost to Middlesbrough and while Liverpool surrendered to the Reading. In the match between Middlesbrough and Arsenal, Middlesbrough performed well and grabbed all the 3 points which will be handy at the end of the season. Downing and Tuncay Sanli scored for the Middlesbrough while Rosicky scored for the Gunners.

In other match Reading went better of the Liverpool as they won the match 3-1. Hunt, Doyle and Harper scored for the Reading while Steven Gerrard scored for the Reds. Blackburn and Aston Villa also tasted defeat at their own ground. Blackburn lost to West Ham while Aston Villa lost to Portsmouth.

Arsenal and Newcastle vie for a draw

Arsenal and Newcastle settled for the draw in the only midweek fixture f the week. Newcastle who has lost a series of matches were expected some thrashing by Arsenal but instead it was the Newcastle team that remain better in terms of quality. Adebayor scored in the early minutes of the match while Steven Taylor pulled goal back for the toons.

Sam Allardyce must have been a relieved man after the result as he was on a pressure fromfans and board for his team's dismal performance. Arsenal in the mean time could have increased point gaps against tis rival in the standings.

Birmingham showed mental toughness at White Hart Lane

Birmingham City who is newly promoted team is the only team that looks like which has the premiership stiffness to survive in the premier league. It showed its resilient ability against he good looking Spurs side as it won the match in the dying seconds with the magical strike from Sebastian Larsson. Earlier Robbie Keane managed two goals for Spurs but McSheffrey and Jerome striked for Birmingham.

All the big for won the matches with Liverpool highlighting the result as they demolished Bolton 4-0. Hyypia, Torres, Babel and Gerard scored for the Mercyside team. A host of other matches finished in tie.
